Please note the title....... work is started on John's boat but not completed. Ho hum
Steve arrived as promised with replacement bearings for the driveshaft and this was duly removed in order to fit the new parts.
The damaged bearing is the wobbly one on the left - it's not supposed to be wobbly! That's tech talk !
John found all the ball bearings scattered over the engine floor. Yes Pete he'd lost them.
Steve's mobile workshop
Whilst out of the boat it was decided to replace both bearings to be on the safe side. The bearings that had been ordered were identical and yes, you've guessed it, the bearings on the driveshaft are not identical.
And of course, the damaged bearing was of the type not delivered!
Sod's Law or Murphy's Law? I think either would apply here
So we were not much better off really. But Steve took the drive shaft away with him and another bearing was ordered for him to fit at home ready to install asap.
Steve was really helpful and accommodating and got us out of a frustrating fix with his assistance.
Meanwhile we had heard that lock 20 was now fixed so time to move.
Before motoring on, John received a comforting cuddle from Tara......
And some encouraging words of advice
And then she started telling him some secrets....I think.... she's a bit young for dirty jokes!
Always interesting to watch
Saw Steve yesterday. He updated us.
